BANNER FIRE EQUIPMENT, INC. was incorporated October 1, 1986 in Collinsville, Illinois by owners Mike and Mary Benker. Mike’s many years experience working in the municipal fire equipment business along with Mary’s background in information systems and sales established the basis for a strong management team.

In April of 1989 Banner was named the exclusive dealer for Emergency One, Inc. (E-One) fire apparatus for the southern Illinois/eastern Missouri territory. For over 30 years E-One has been a recognized leader in the fire apparatus industry, pioneering the use of aluminum in the construction of emergency apparatus. Many of the standard features of today’s fire apparatus are the result of E-One’s history of product innovation.

The partnership between Banner Fire Equipment and E-One has resulted in the sale of over 220 emergency vehicles in our sales territory. Banner was named E-One south central dealer of the year in both 1995 and 2000 and has been a consistent member of the multi-million dollar sales club. The commitment of the manufacturer and dealer to product excellence and customer service has resulted in a high level of customer satisfaction.

As business continued to grow in the late 1990’s it was apparent that our present facility was not going to be adequate to support the growing fleet of in-service E-One vehicles. In July, 2002 Banner moved to our brand new 12,000sq ft building in Roxana, Il. The facility, with its close proximity to highway 255, is easily accessed by customers throughout the St. Louis and Metro East areas. The service center features 6 drive through service bays, a retail sales area and outside pump test facility, capable of testing up to 3,000gpm fire pumps. 

The combination of top quality products, including ISI Breathing Apparatus, Niedner Fire Hose and Genesis Rescue Tools, knowledgeable staff (many of whom are active firefighters) and reliable service support enable Banner Fire Equipment to be the right choice for the fire/rescue market.
